Mrs. Lilly Holmes Fitzgerald, 95, of Douglasville, Georgia, formerly of Valley, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015. She was born August 16, 1920 in Morgan County, Alabama the daughter of the late Mr. Astor Holmes and the late Mrs. Jenni Lucille South Holmes. She retired as a weaver having worked at West Point Pepperell, Inc. for over 30 years. She was a member of Lanett First Baptist Church in Lanett, AL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Fitzgerald; sister, Mildred Holmes Brown; and brother, Elsworth Holmes. She is survived by her daughter, Geri F. Hines Fitzpatrick of Douglasville, GA; three grandchildren and their spouses, Timothy and Jennifer Fitzpatrick of Clay, AL, Richard and Tammi Hines of McDonough, GA, and Jennifer and Stephen Brown of Villa Rica, GA; three great-grandchildren, Marion Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, Lily Ann Fitzpatrick, and Jonathan L. Wright; half sister, Eva Joy Elsberry of Birmingham, AL; and half brother, John Beasley of Pell City, AL. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 5:00 PM EST until 7:00 PM EST. Graveside Services will be conducted Friday, November 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM EST at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 6415 Veterans Memorial Highway, Lanett, Alabama Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
