Linda Carolyn Redding Hamrick, age 81, of Villa Rica, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022

She was born June 7, 1941 in Bremen, Georgia, daughter of the late Mr. Otis “Monk” Redding and the late Mrs. Lucille Hilton Redding. She helped serve families from Carroll and Douglas Counties at her family restaurant, The Rock Inn, for many years. Linda also worked as a buyer at Perrens clothing. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica where she played an active role in the Sunshine Sunday School Class. Linda was a kind and generous soul who was always willing to help anyone in need. Linda’s deep faith has been the foundation of her life as evidenced by her involvement in countless church activities and volunteer roles. She made friends quickly and they lasted a lifetime. Because of her kind heart and engaging smile, she continued developing special friendships throughout her life. Linda loved the beach and loved to dance. She got most of her spunk from her mother, who was the first and only female Sheriff in Douglas County. Linda will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Hamrick; her Beloved son, Stacey Taylor; brother, Burnell Redding.                                      

She is survived by her daughter in law, Stephanie Taylor of Douglasville; sons, Tim (Terry) Taylor of Bremen, Kip (Jessica) Taylor of Peachtree Corners; daughters, Kim (Ross Marshall) Hamrick of Woodland, AL, Vicki (Mike) Taylor of Winston; grandchildren, Allen (Jenn) Taylor of New Jersey, Lindsy (Andy) Gawron of Peachtree City, Stacy Taylor of Douglasville, Austin Taylor of Decatur, Zachary Taylor of Douglasville, Gracie Taylor of Peachtree Corners, Cash Bahr of Peachtree Corners, Shayla Bahr of Peachtree Corners, Colton Hamrick of Douglasville, Matt Bramblett and Rhett Bramblett; great grandchildren, Charlotte Taylor, Grady Taylor, Madison Taylor, Caroline Gawron , James Gawron, Sadie Hamrick, Hallie Hamrick; sisters-in-law, Betty Redding of Villa Rica, Reba Taylor of Douglasville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Villa Rica at 12:00 PM. Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary Taylor, Austin Taylor, Allen Taylor, Cash Bahr, Matt Bramblett, Rhett Bramblett, and Colton Hamrick. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sunshine Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/) or the Christian Family Ministry at First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, Georgia.
