Linda Henson, age 82, of Douglasville passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born November 21, 1941 in Dover, TN to the late Mr. Robert Grady Lyons and the late Mrs. Ruby Ethlean Causey.
Linda found great joy in sports, particularly baseball and football. In addition to her love for sports, Linda also devoted much of her time to volunteering at the Alpha Fowler Senior Living Community. Her selfless acts of service brightened the days of those around her and left a lasting impact on the lives she touched. For 32 years, Linda worked at the Clearview Bus Ministry, where she poured her heart into serving her community.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Buddie Henson; son, Richard Henson; brother, T.R. Lyons; sisters, Patsy James and Peggy Crawford.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (David) Wallace of Douglasville; brothers, William “Eddie” (Tabitha) Henson of Parson, TN, James (Julie) Henson of Keystone Heights, FL; brother in law, Butch Crawford of MS, sister, Louise Lyons of KY; brothers, Robert Lyons of MI, Terry (Brenda) Lyons of Tallapoosa; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Bro. Terry Lyons and Bro. Ricky Eaves officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Garden of Memories.
