Linda Ann Lumpkin, age 68, of Smyrna, GA, formally of Wilmington, OH, passed away Monday, January 8th under the care of Hospice, after a short battle with cancer. Linda approached the battle with the strength and determination to fight, and in the end, with courage and acceptance. Linda was devoted and giving to her family and many close friends whom she considered family. In her over 30 years as an educator and administrator, she shared that same spirit with countless colleagues and students. Linda loved a good book, watching her daily Soaps, and Ohio State football. She was proceeded in death by her cherished parents, Anna Lou and Bob Lumpkin. Beloved sister of Phil Lumpkin and Jay Lumpkin (Belinda). Unforgettable aunt to Danielle Lumpkin-Miller (Kevin) and Jayson Lumpkin (Lexey). She is also survived by her aunt, Barbara Lumpkin, and two great-nephews she adored, Jackson and Camden Miller. Linda also leaves behind two dogs, known affectionately as her âgirlsâ. She will be dearly missed for her positivity, advice, support, and appreciation and joy for life. In lieu of flowers, weâd ask that you pay-it-forward by helping a classroom in need (or any charity of your choice). Lindaâs passion was education and she frequently gave to teachers in need through the site Donorâs Choose. By visiting Donorâs Choose and searching for a classroom in your area, you can honor her memory while helping others, something she was so good at. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13 at 11:00 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
