Linda Wynn McInteer

Linda Wynn McInteer was born the first of five children on October 28th, 1935 to Lee Wynn and Estelle Rooks Wynn in Villa Rica, GA. Linda graduated from Villa Rica High School and was a member of Future Business Leaders and served as the News Editor of her school paper. She was also very active in sports with basketball being her favorite. She was a forward on the varsity team for three years and was Carroll County’s winner of the high jump contest.

 Following high school, she attended West Georgia College, currently known as the University of West Georgia, and graduated in 1955 with a Business Education Certificate. She worked as the secretary at West Georgia for the dean in 1956 and went on to work as a secretary to three different presidents of the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta for roughly 40 years.

While working for Coca-Cola, Linda met the love of her life, Adelbert (Jim) McInteer. They married in 1967 and led a busy social life. They traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. Her tales of their travels will be missed. They celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2024. One of Linda’s passions was working as a long-time member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority to put on fundraisers to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She was an active member for 50+ years. Linda was a very loving and giving person who liked to help people. Linda also treated people with kindness and made them feel special. She took the time to learn their names and always addressed them by name whenever they crossed paths.

Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis, both parents, her sister, Louise (Lucy) Wynn Turner, and her husband Adelbert (Jim) McInteer. 

Linda is survived by her brother, Lawrence Wynn (“Lin”), brother-in-law Tommy Turner (Lucy), brother, Larry Wynn (Nancy), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
