Mr. Linnie D. Petty, age 80, of Powder Springs, passed away, Friday, June 27, 2014. He was born June 21, 1934 in Powder Springs, GA the son of the late Mr. Snowdy Guy Petty and the late Mrs. Louella Scoggins Petty. He retired from Glidden Paint as a service technician. Mr. Petty served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he has served as a deacon over forty years.He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Shaw Petty of Powder Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Harold Driver of Powder Springs; sisters, his twin, Winnie B. Hunter of Powder Springs, Bobbie Jean Grantham of Villa Rica; three grandchildren, Matt and Jade Driver of Douglasville, Josh and Carrie Driver of Hiram, Daniel and Erica Driver of Hiram; four great-grandchildren, Maddox Driver, Nate Driver, Reid Driver and Madalen Driver. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Rackley officiating.
