Lisa Renee Allen was born on August 6, 1967 at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
Lisa went home to the Lord on November 12, 2019 in Orlando, FL.
From a young age Lisa showed that she was devoted to her family and friends. She was their strongest advocate and defender. Going to bat for them in a fierce and loving manner, if she felt that they had been wronged in anyway.
That attitude followed her through life, allowing her to form deep friendships wherever she went.
Her love of music, movies and her sense of humor made her a joy to be around at all family functions.
Lisa graduated from Benjamin Cardozo High School in Bayside, NY and later attended Queens College where she studied Business Administration.
While in NY Lisa worked at JFK International Airport, J & J Farms & Choice Courier in various administrative roles.
This courageous woman relocated to Atlanta, GA in 1998, with the knowledge that Her Lord and her faith would sustain her during this life changing move.
Lisa flourished in Georgia. She worked for many years at PFM Mortgage Co., where she developed a love for helping others achieve home ownership. Lisa moved on to work for Bank of America's mortgage division in Smyrna, GA until she relocated to Florida in 2015.
Lisa, worked for D.R. Horton in Orlando, FL., where she found some wonderful co-workers who became her 2nd family.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother Marva Allen, grandmothers Mary "Girlie" Edwards, Catherine Skerritt & Great Niece Annaliyah Mya Cristina Allen.
She is survived by her sister Hermelinda Gordon of Atlanta, Brothers: Michael Allen of Douglasville and Christopher Allen (Sheila) of Lithia Springs all in Georgia, nephews: Robert Edwards, Christopher Allen, Damario Musler & Michael Allen, nieces, Mikia Allen, Shelisa Allen, Michelle Allen & Great Niece Makia Allen, Uncle Rogelio Edwards of Raeford, NC., Godmother Ruth Piper and a host of cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 12:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.
