Lois Crosby Yates

April 30, 1919 — February 5, 2008

Lois Crosby Yates of Carrollton, Georgia, formerly of Tallahassee, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2008 after 88 years of sharing her love with friends and family. She now joins in Heaven, her loving husband, Hal Yates. She was born on April 30, 1919 as the youngest daughter of Vann T. Crosby and Bennie Ola Murphy. She was a loving mother and wife, dedicated daughter, a caring sister to four brothers and two sisters, a respected sister-in-law, a loving Aunt, adored Grandmother and cherished friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters Valle Mae Wilson, Irene Bennett and her brothers Coy Crosby, Ralph Crosby, Hollis Crosby and Lonnie Crosby. She is survived by her five children, their spouses and ten grandchildren, Don and Stephanie Yates (Marshall & John) of Carrollton, GA, Sarah and John Wise (Stephen & Kate) of Forsyth, GA, John and Gina Yates (Brandon, Matthew, Alexandra & John) of Melbourne, FL, Bill Walters, Polly Yates and Charley Mack, Lizza Bailey & Heather Mack, formerly of Tallahassee, her sister-in-law, Laura Crosby and many beloved nieces and nephews. She led the way in her words and in her actions. We will miss her until we meet again. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 2:00PM from Culley's Meadow Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Timberlane Road in Tallahassee Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tanner Hospice, 705 Dixie Street, Carrollton, Georgia 30117 or to Georgia Sheriff's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 100, Hahira, Georgia 31632.
