Mrs. Lois Maxine Post, age 104, passed away on May 10th, 2024. She was born on December 8, 1919 to the late Mr. Edward Crowder and the late Mrs. Ethel Crowder. She had four siblings, Louise, Betty, Ethridge and JC. In 1937, she married Charles Benjamin Post and they had five children.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, her siblings and their spouses, her husbands 12 siblings and their spouses, one son, Buddy Post, four son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Adams, Emily Ayers, Sandra Cochran, one son, Kenny Post and one daughter-in-law, Jo Post. She has 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 49 great-great grandchildren (another one on the way) and 1 great-great-great grandchild (also another one on the way). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews on both the Crowder and Post side.
Lois was a beloved mother and grandmother to her family. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was of the Baptist faith. She was an avid reader and loved watching the Atlanta Braves. There was absolutely no topics that you could bring up that she couldn’t carry on a conversation with you about. In her last few years, she was the oldest resident at the Cleburne County Nursing Home where she was thought highly of by the other residents and staff there.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral will take place at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Post officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Garden of Memories in Douglasville.
