Mrs. Lottie Ouida Mayfield Sleek, 84, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 at her residence. She was born October 21, 1923 in Wedowee, AL the daughter of the late Charlie Clay Mayfield and the late Nettie Bell Kent Mayfield. She married Harold DeLoss Sleek on October 21, 1944. She was a homemaker and of the Christian Faith. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold DeLoss Sleek on May 5, 2001. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Dianne Elaine Sleek of Douglasville and Kathryn Gail Sleek and her husband, Tony Morgan of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Steven Harold and Judy Sleek of Douglasville; sister, Betty Clay Bassett of Biloxi, MS; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her life will be conducted Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 7:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Ouida Sleek may be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center, 3030 Chapel Hill Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.
