Lucian "Paul" Campbell III, 64, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away at home on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was born on May 23, 1961 in Tarboro, North Carolina to the late Eleanor Smith Campbell and Lucian Paul Campbell, Jr. He lived a life filled with kindness towards everyone around him.
One of Paul's favorite activities was cooking - he attended culinary school when he was younger and worked as a chef in various kitchens for several years. Paul also worked as a ballast machine operator where he cleaned and maintained railroad tracks all over Georgia. He had several hobbies including gardening and growing vegetables as well as watching historical documentaries and horror movies. Paul will always be remembered for his quick wit, kind heart and his love for animals - especially dogs.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lucian Paul Campbell, Sr. and Mattie Bell Campbell; and maternal grandmother Tessie Smith Sanders.
He is survived by his sisters, Eleanor Campbell Billingsley of Douglasville, GA and Patricia Campbell McClellion (Dave) of Prattville, AL; nieces, Meaghan McClellion and Whitney McClellion of Prattville, AL; great nieces, Kenzleigh and Kyah Manry of Prattville AL; great-nephews, Bentley Burn of Douglasville, GA and Hayden and Hunter Merritt of Prattville AL; as well as several cousins and his beloved dachshund, Sophie.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Campbell was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a alter date.
