Lucius Edward Burke

December 14, 1955 — April 9, 2026

Lucius "Edward" Burke, 70, of Carrollton, passed away on April 9, 2026. He was born on December 14, 1955 in Millen, Georgia to the late Annie Lou Williams Burke and Herman Franklin Burke. Edward lived a life deeply rooted in hard work, dedication, and love for both his family and the simple joys that brightened his days.

Edward was a dedicated farmer and a skilled professional in trucking logistics for four decades. His commitment to his work was matched by his passion for craftsmanship; he found great joy in woodworking and landscaping, activities through which he expressed his careful attention to detail. He often found another outlet in the water, where he enjoyed scuba diving. At home, he was never far from his German Shepherd, Sasha, a loyal companion who shared many moments of love and companionship with him. During his career, his contributions to agriculture were honored with the prestigious FFA American Farmer Award, a testament to his dedication and significant impact within his community. Those who knew Edward appreciated the quiet strength he carried with him—a man of few words, yet bubbly and warm when surrounded by his loved ones.

Edward was also deeply proud of his family—whom he held close to his heart. Known lovingly as "Pop-Pop" to his grandchildren, he enjoyed their company and was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a story from his many years of experience.

Though Edward often maintained a reserved demeanor, those who knew him well recognized his generous spirit and warmth. His legacy is one of quiet strength, faithful service, and an enduring love for the people and pursuits that shaped his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sabrina Burke Eubanks; daughter, Colista Burke; sons, Lucius Burke II and Stephen (Hannah) Burke; sister, Patsy B. Keeber; Brothers, Wayne Burke and Pete Burke; grandchildren, Bausten Burke and Indiana Burke; as well as several nieces and nephews.
