Mrs. Louise (Lucy) Wynn Turner, age 78, of Villa Rica, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born on June 20, 1945 in Villa Rica, Ga. to the late Lee Redwine Wynn and Mary Estelle Wynn. She was the next to the youngest of 5 children. She graduated from Villa Rica High School, then, met and married Tommy Wayne Turner on December 20", 1963. (The couple would’ve celebrated 60 years next Wednesday.) They had three children and settled in Villa Rica and built a home across the road from the farm where she grew up. She worked as a Paraprofessional in the Carroll County school system for 25 years. During that time, she helped over 1000 children to learn and was even known to have taken one child to be fitted for glasses. She was an avid gardener and could most often be seen working in her yard, digging up plants that had gotten a little too much real estate so she could share with others and encourage new gardeners. From the labor of love in the garden came fresh produce which she turned into delicious meals for her family and others. She took immense pleasure in having family or friends over for the holidays, birthdays, celebrations of accomplishments by her children or grandchildren, or just because the weather was nice for eating out on the deck while enjoying all the pretty flowers surrounding it. Her creative talents went further than the garden and kitchen. She sewed some of her own clothes and made matching Christmas outfits for herself and her daughter for several years. She had a wonderful talent for decorating and by all rights could have been an Interior Designer. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she brought magic to nearly every room in the house with multiple trees, angels, nativity scenes, Santas, reindeer, and candles. She was also very crafty and made all of her own wreaths and floral arrangements. Her life was not without struggles and her inner strength and belief in God got her through many health battles and losses. She was diagnosed with Scleroderma, which is a hardening of the body's organs, at age 24 when she had two small children. They told her she would end up in a wheelchair. She told the doctors she didn't have time for that. She fought off many other illnesses throughout her life and proved them wrong as she never succumbed to a wheelchair but lived her life to the fullest.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Lewis Wynn, and two sons, Jeffrey Wayne Turner and Brett Michael Turner.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Wayne Turner; daughter, Kerri Leigh Turner; sister, Linda W. McInteer (Jim); brother, Larry Wynn (Nancy), brother, Lawrence Wynn (Linda); granddaughters, Kayla Marie Collins (Jeremy) and Jessica Allee Dyer; great granddaughters, Piper Allee Eaves and Presley Mahala Blair; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
