Mr. L.W. Wessinger, 81, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1926 in Heard County, Georgia the son of the late Mr. J.W. Wessinger and the late Mrs. Flora Venable Wessinger. He was of the Church of God Faith. Mr. Wessinger worked as a textile superintendent at Timms Mills and Straton Industries. After retirement, he worked in private security. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Edward Lee Wessinger; grandson, Michael Wessinger; sisters, Frances Wessinger, Wilma Walker, and Mary Lou Collins; and brother, James Wessinger. He is survived by his wife, Vilma Gore Wessinger of Douglasville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Sticher of Douglasville and Pam and Mike Buckner of Cleveland; one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy Ray and Mary Wessinger of Douglasville; one sister, Ruth Jordan of Lawrenceville; one brother, Charles Wessinger of Douglasville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, October 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
