Mr. Lyndell Wallace Ogle, age 76, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at his residence. He was born July 27, 1932 in Fulton County, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and the Air Force National Guard. He married Joyce Estes on June 7, 1958 in Douglasville. Mr. Ogle retired from Delta Airlines as a lead mechanic following 38 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville where he attended the Alpha Sunday School Class. Mr. Ogle enjoyed the life God blessed him with to the fullest enjoying God’s creation by traveling, scuba diving and hiking the Grand Canyon. He enjoyed sports and time spent with his precious family. He was preceded in death by his father, James Wallace Ogle. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Estes Ogle of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Scott Robbins of Douglasville; his mother, Catherine Giles Ogle of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, Kristi Ogle and Paul “Buddy” Ballard of Marietta; brother, Dean Ogle of Douglasville; four grandchildren, Lyndsey Ann Robbins, Travis Robbins, Sandy Robbins and Vaneza Robbins; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Douglasville with Dr. John Pennington officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 2:30 PM until the funeral hour. The following will serve as pallbearers: Wesley Ogle, Gregory Ogle, David Ogle and Dylan Ogle. Honorary escort will be members of the Alpha Sunday School Class. Interment will follow at Douglasville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Those desiring to do so may make contributions in memory of Mr. Lyndell W. Ogle to the First Baptist Church of Douglasville, 5900 Prestley Mill Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.
