Lynda Lynette Clark Abbott, 83, of Douglasville, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was born on March 4, 1942, the daughter of the late Charlie Monroe Clark and the late Cassie Register Cherry Clark.
She was a remarkable woman of strength and patience. Lynette found joy in the simplest things life had to offer. Lynette’s elegance was matched by her profound love for family. Lynette loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest treasure. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, reading and shopping. She also enjoyed people watching.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jordan Andrew Abbott; sisters, Betty, Blanch, Lavern and Faye.
She is survived by her children, Tanya and Anthony Sherman, Catherine “Cat” Abbott, Tammy Morrical; Cynthia and Darryl Butler Abbott, Gregory and Cindy Abbott and Scottie and Deborah Abbott; brother, Robert Clark, eight grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Erika Murphy, Heather Abbott, Tiffany Abbott, Vincent Abbott, Dustin Jones, Summer Gonzalez, and Andrew Morrical; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Natilia, Tristen, Kalyna, Saige, Cade, Vincent, Emma, Jayden, Cora, Cadence, Caleb, Elijah, Isaiah, Malia, and Malachi; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel with funeral services conducted at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
