Mrs. M. Lue Samples Smith, age 85, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the residence of her daughter following an extended illness. She was born December 5, 1925 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Dewey Hiram Samples, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mamie Lou Brownlee Samples. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville. She worked as a secretary for over 34 years for the Communication Workers of America. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dewey H. Samples, Jr. and Ernest âEdâ Samples. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Stephansen of Douglasville; one grandson, Timothy Stephansen; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jean and Harold Castor of Douglasville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Sandy Fox officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. The following nephews will serve as pallbearers: Skipper Samples, Jerry Castor, Terry Castor, Brian Blore, Adam Post and T.J.
