Maebell Shepard Turner

Mrs. Maebell Shepard Turner, age 92, of Temple, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Brian Center in Austell, Georgia. Mrs. Turner was born February 9, 1916 in Haralson County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Rufus Q. Shepard and the late Mrs. Ludie Frances Hicks Shepard. She worked as a seamstress for Arrow Shirt for 25 years. Mrs. Turner was a member of Zion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Eldo James Turner; and her brothers, Edwin Shepard, Clarence B. Shepard, Lonnie R. Shepard and O. D. Shepard; and her sisters, Myrtle Brooks, Pauline Hollis and Bertie Shepard.. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jerry Terrell of Atlantic Beach, Florida; her son and daughter-in-law, Cecil R. and Christine Turner of Atlanta; her sisters, Annie Lou Shepard of Carrollton and Dorothy Rutledge of Bremen; her brother, Hugh W. Shepard; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, January 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Pastor Travis Warren and Pastor Bob Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
