Maggie Tidwell Edwards

Maggie Tidwell Edwards, 87, of Draketown, GA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, May 14, 2022. She was born on July 8, 1934 in Dallas, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late James Simmie and Irene Smith Tidwell Mrs. Edwards was a long time employee of Arrow Shirt Shop in Buchanan Georgia. She was a very active member of the Temple Senior Center and a lifelong member of the Oak Hill Church of God. She was a faithful servant of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billie Edwards Sr.; son, Billy Edwards Jr. (Tereasa); daughter Linda Durham (Ronnie), three grandchildren, Angela, Preston, and Valerie and sisters Lucille Tidwell, Annie Burrand, Clara Keaton and Francis Maner. She is survived by two daughters Brenda Ploof (Red) of Bremen and Donna Watkins (Robert) of Palm Bay, Fl, two sons Bobby Edwards (Dessie) of Draketown and Richard Edwards (Penny) of Temple; siblings Gertrude Floyd of Draketown, Tom Tidwell of Ranburne, Al., and Melton Tidwell of Heflin, Al.; nineteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and a close friend Bob Thomason. The following will serve as pallbearers, Terry Rutledge, Chris Rutledge, Zander Rutledge, Chase Edwards, Brayden Darbonne, and Andy Barker. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Oak Hill Church of God with Kevin Nugent officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Church of God.
