Mr. Malcolm Chandler Granville, Sr., 69, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014. He was born September 28, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Lester Malcolm Granville and the late Mrs. Mildred Baird York Granville. He married Charlotte Roberta Disharoon on August 16, 1964 in Rabun Gap, Georgia. He worked as a Graphic Artist and Printer for the Cobb County Board of Education. He had a great love for photography and enjoyed gardening and raising farm animals. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithia Springs for 35 years and served as a Sunday School teacher, Choir Director and Deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norman York. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Roberta Disharoon Granville of Lithia Springs; daughter, Anna Kite of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Mac Jr. and Devera Granville of Acworth; sisters, Lucretia Ragsdale of Marietta and Adelia Roberts of Richmond, VA; brothers and sister-in-law, Buddy and Mae York of Mableton and Richard Granville of Marysville, WA; four grandchildren, Jessica, Allen, Chandler and Logan; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Douglas McHenry and Rev. Ken Hennesy officiating. According to the familyâs wishes, he will be cremated following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Malcolm Granville, Sr. may be made to the charity of your choice.
