Mamie Lee Oates, 90, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in Douglasville, GA. She was born on December 28, 1934 in Albany, GA, to the late Mr. Almo Frazier and Mrs. Gertie Gooden Frazier.

Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, joy, and a profound appreciation for family and the simple pleasures of life.

Mamie was a guiding light in the lives of many, cherished for her nurturing spirit and commitment to her loved ones. She took pride in her large family, which she regarded as her proudest accomplishment. Mamie's love extended beyond her immediate circle; she embraced each moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and siblings, providing warmth and wisdom to those fortunate enough to know her.

Her passions were reflected in her hobbies, particularly her love of gardening and cooking. Mamie's hands brought forth bountiful gardens, and her meals brought family and friends together around the table, creating lasting memories that will be cherished.

She is survived by her beloved children: daughters and sons-in-law, Janice (Joseph) Adams of Douglasville, Beverly (Sonny) Redfearn of Budd Lake, NJ, Leola (Rudolph) Hunt, Carrie Oates and Rhonda (Johnny) Williams of Albany, GA; sons, Rodney Oates of Lithonia, Albert Oates of Starks, FL, Michael Oates of Albany, Cortez Oates of Chamblee, and grandson who she raised, Brian Oates of Albany. She leaves behind a sibling as well as Jessie Frazier of Albany. A number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated. Mamie’s family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
