Mrs. Marcy Lynn Sims Bennett, age 64, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017. She was born October 7, 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked as a consultant at MLB Consulting. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a strong woman that gave her family and friends unconditional love. Devoted to her family, she had a special love for each of her grandchildren and was known as the glue that held her family together. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Zachary Parsons. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert Alan Bennett; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Tony Bowen of Lithia Springs; son, Shane David Matthews of Marietta; her mother, Polly Edwards McPherson of Temple; her father, Herbert Hollis Sims of Mableton; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Jimmy Manning of Rockmart; brother, Keith Herbert Sims of Dawsonville; four grandchildren, Nicholas Lee Matthews, Jackson Hunter Matthews, Payton Shane Matthews, and Preston Andrew Matthews; nieces, Janna McDaniel, Katie Sims, and Brittany McDaniel; several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Memorial Services in celebration of her life will be conducted Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with David Smith officiating.
