Margaret Genelle Matthews Cohran

Mrs. Margaret Genelle Matthews Cohran, 82, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Carroll County, Georgia she was born July 11, 1926 the daughter of the late Mr. Asa Matthews and the late Mrs. Pearl Furr Matthews. Mrs. Cohran was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a caregiver. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Cohran and son, Danny Cohran; and her brothers and sisters, Guy Matthews, Ray Matthews, Shirley Matthews, J.R. Matthews, and Peggy Hardin. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Suzanne Cohran of Villa Rica; sisters, Betty Tyson of Villa Rica and Wilma Boyd of Lithia Springs; one grandson and his wife, Jeremy and Jennifer Cohran of Waco; 1 great-grandchild, Jaxon Cohran; 5 step grandchildren; 17 step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, November 24, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Horace Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park. The following will serve as pallbearers: Jeremy Cohran, Shannon Smith, Steve Hardin, Phillip Hardin, Jimmy Matthews, and Preston Prater. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
