Mrs. Margie Sticher Davis, age 73, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. She was born August 15, 1936 in Douglas County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. James P. Sticher and the late Mrs. Edna Sarah Hollis Sticher. She was a devoted member of Union Grove Christian Church. She married Jimmy Lee Davis on October 10, 1959 in Atlanta. She retired after 36 years of dedicated service from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company where she worked on the switchboard, was a typist and did filing. After retirement, she worked for the Douglas County Board of Education Food Services for six years. She was a devoted wife and a loving sister and aunt. Mrs. Davis had a wonderful heart and was a sweet person who was dearly loved by her family, friends, neighbors and church family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Mr. Jimmie Lee Davis on March 3, 2007; and an infant brother. She is survived by her four sisters, Martha and Morris Garner of Lynette, AL, Ruby and Buddy Sheppard of Griffin, Janice and Billy Thompson of Douglasville and Judy and John Moody of Douglasville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. from the Union Grove Christian Church in Winston with Minister Randy Knight officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 2:30 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Winston. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 3:00 until 8:00 PM.
