Mariam Mahomed Castillo

Mariam Mahomed Castillo, 78, born on April 26, 1946 to the late Bertha Castillo and Emilio Mahomed, passed away on February 26, 2025. 

Mariam's personality was peculiar - she had a passion for self-care, indulging in getting her nails done every week, treating herself to the simple joys of life such as ice cream and coffee from QuikTrip, and taking great pride in getting dressed up and wearing her favorite lipstick. 

Her devotion to her family was incredible. Mariam loved her grandchildren dearly, finding joy in their laughter and accomplishments. She was also incredibly proud of her daughter, Pamela, commending her for being not only a good daughter but a source of unwavering support and love. Her devotion to her family was matched by her affection for her beloved dogs, Sasha and Guly, who provided her with companionship and comfort.

A dedicated member of her church community, Mariam’s faith in Jesus shaped her life and was reflective of her character. 

Mariam Mahomed Castillo will be remembered for her sweet personality, her love for life, and her ability to bring joy to those around her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will carry forward the lessons of love and dedication she so beautifully exemplified.

In additon to her parents, Mariam is preceded in death by her sisters, Fadme Mahomed and Yainap Mahomed; and her brothers, Mario Mahomed and Jamil Mahomed. 

She is survived by her loving daughter, Pamela (Jorge Resendiz) Franco Mahomed; and her brothers, Nasim Mahomed, Israel, Angel and Elian. 

In accordance with her wishes, Mariam was cremated.
