Marie Allen

Mrs. Marie Waldrop Allen, age 76, of Carrollton, passed away, Sunday, October 21, 2018. She was born March 26, 1942 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Raymond Waldrop and the late Mrs. Clara Bell Dobbs Brown. Mrs. Allen was a Villa Rica High School graduate where she achieved the superlative “Most Likely to Succeed”. Her high school class was the first to attend and graduate from the new school building at Villa Rica High. She also attended classes at West Georgia College and Darton College. Mrs. Allen was the treasurer and secretary of her neighborhood HOA. She was a faithful and active member of Midway Church as well as being a member of the Margaret Phillips Lifegroup. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Wayne Allen, Sr. and sister, Brenda Lockhart Dockery. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Louis Stephen Fendley of Villa Rica; son and daughter-in-law, John and Debra Allen, Jr. of Leesburg, VA; five grandchildren, Lauren and Joe Wells of Temple, Thomas Fendley of Villa Rica, Olivia Allen, Parker Allen and Kelton Allen all of Leesburg, VA; three great-grandchildren, Alena, David and Genevieve; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Thompson officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Danny Mote. Interment will follow at Glenn Memorial Park.
