Marie Ethridge

Mrs. Marie F. Pope Ethridge, age 76, of Villa Rica, passed away Thursday, October 09, 2014. She was born August 25, 1938 in Atlanta, the daughter of the late Mr. Ernest Leon Pope and the late Mrs. Thena Elizabeth Buck Shaw Pope. She was a volunteer with the Pink Lady for two years for Tanner Medical Systems in Villa Rica. She was also a member of the Shrinette’s. Mrs. Ethridge was a homemaker who was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great- great grandmother.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Hubert Ethridge; two brothers, John David Pope and Curtis Eugene Pope; two sisters, Ann Arnold and Ernestine Houde. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey Reece of Temple, Cynthia and Mike Gentry of Villa Rica; sons and daughter-in-law, Doug Hubert Ethridge Jr. of Tucker, Mark and Delaine Ethridge of Villa Rica; sisters, Lorene Cunningham of Temple, Bernice Summers of Macon; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and and Joanie Pope of Flint, Michigan; 12 grandchildren, Edward “Termite” Reece Jr. of Temple, Christopher and Rhiana Reece, Temple, Michelle and Todd Tant of Villa Rica, Amanda Ethridge of Carrollton, Samantha Ethridge of Villa Rica, Luke Ethridge of Roopville, Mac Ethridge of Roopville, Gerald Ethridge of Villa Rica, Daniel Ethridge of Villa Rica, Cody Gentry of Villa Rica, Amy Ethridge of Tucker, Alysha Ethridge of Villa Rica; 13 great-grandchildren, Alexandria Reece of Temple, Brittani Reece of Douglasville, Brandon Reece of Tucker, Tiffani Reece of Temple, DJ Reece of Tucker, Stephanie Reece of Carrollton, Hannah Tant of Villa Rica, Jacob Reece of Villa Rica, James Ethridge of Villa Rica, and Kylee Tant of Villa Rica; two great great-grandchildren, Aniasten Franklin of Temple and Macie Reece of Douglasville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2:00 Pm from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Condra, Mark Ethridge, and Cody Gentry officiating.
