Marion Eugene Sheffield

Mr. Marion Eugene “Buddy” Sheffield, 74, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, April 28, 2006 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born November 22, 1931 in Douglas County, GA the son of the late Mr. Sam Sheffield and the late Mrs. Pauline Hardy Sheffield. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Jordan on June 12, 1952. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and was a plumber at Bennett’s Plumbing Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Sheffield and Evelyn Smith and brother, Charles Sheffield. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jordan Sheffield of Douglasville; two daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Williamson of Douglasville and Sherrie and David Harrop of Macon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Sandra Sheffield of Carrollton and Wendell and Robin Sheffield of Douglasville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol Garmon, Gwen and Jerry Thomason, and Linda and Buster Spence all of Douglasville; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Carmon Sheffield of Texas, Ernest Sheffield of Winston, and Ronnie and Jan Sheffield of Douglasville; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, May 1, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Church of God of Prophecy with Brother James Green officiating. Mr. Sheffield will lie in state at the church from 12:00 until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Douglasville City Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
