Mr. Marion Lamar Queen, age 54, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born June 30, 1955 in Douglasville, Georgia the son of Mr. Marion Hamilton Queen and Mrs. Sarah Frances Gilstrap Queen. He worked as a service technician for over 26 years for Atlanta Gas Light Company. He was an avid sportsman who was a fan of the Atlanta Falcons and volunteered for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Dana Marie and Derek Pettigrew of Macon, Traci Renee and Spencer Irby of Macon, Tina Lynn Queen of Macon, Shannon Elizabeth Queen of Douglasville, Kayla Abby Queen of Douglasville and Maria Hartsel of Jackson, NC; his parents, Marion H. and Sarah F. Queen of Douglasville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice Marie and Edward Smith of Lithia Springs and Rebecca R. Haney of Douglasville; 4 grandchildren, Devin, Sara Faye, Bethany and Davis; niece, Kymberly Haney and nephew, Sgt. Kevin Haney; several aunts, uncles, cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Shuller officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Monday, April 5, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
