Mr. Marion Lewis “Shorty” Huddleston Mr. Marion Lewis “Shorty” Huddleston, 62 of Roanoke, AL formerly a 55 year resident of Douglas County, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. He was born May 11, 1947 the son of the late Mr. Oliver Huddleston and Mrs. Georgia Laminick Huddleston. He was of the Baptist Faith. He worked for Douglas County as a supervisor of the Road Dept. for many years. He enjoyed his family, getting together having fish fries, going fishing, working in his garden, messing around with his chickens and working on cars. We all love you daddy and you will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Grady Huddleston, Hubert Huddleston, Fred Huddleston; two sisters, Agnes Swart, Frances Strickland; twin grandsons, Alex and Andrew. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Kay Blair Huddleston; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy Waddell, Joy and Tony Turner, Bobbie Jo and Tom Seward; biological son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Lee and Karen Huddleston; sons, Tommy Huddleston, Ronnie Huddleston; step-daughters and son-in-law, Amy Merritt, Allison and Joseph Namjeh; step-sons, William “Peanut” Merritt, Brian Merritt; sister, Ludie Strickland; a number of grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Villa Rica Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny White and Dr. Corky Addison officiating. The interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. The following will serve as pallbearers: Jamie Stamps, Gene Willoughby, David Kirkland, Jerry Hunter, Ronald Bivins, Tony Jackson, Mike Camp, Buddy Jackson, and Lonnie Ard. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica, Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and Friday, April 9, 2010 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
