Marjorie Vinson Ford

September 20, 1927 — August 24, 2022

Douglasville

Marjorie Vinson Ford, 94, of Douglasville, formerly of Riverdale, went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2022. She was born on September 20, 1927 to the late Loy and Christine Vinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack W. Ford; grandson Benjamin Hobbs; great-grandsons Jacobsen Manross and Hodges Manross.

Marjorie and Jack served the Lord together in many capacities at Perkerson Baptist Church, and McDonough Road Baptist Church (formerly Second Baptist Church of College Park). As well as raising their three children, one of Marjorie's greatest joys in life was teaching a young ladies' Sunday School class at MRBC known as the "Rachel Class". She established a bond of love and caring with these ladies that lasted for the rest of her life.

Marjorie was a master teacher of the Bible as she used her knowledge and love for the Word of God to make present day application to the circumstances of life. Her goal was for the ladies in her class to know and be prepared to do the will of God. She genuinely loved WHAT she taught, but more than that, she loved WHO she taught. Marjorie's legacy will live on for generations to come in the lives of all she touched through her encouragement and love.

She passed away peacefully at Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb with her family by her side. To her Benton House of Douglasville family who have loved and cared for her for the past three years, we say, "Thank You" and "God Bless You"

Marjorie is survived by her children; Linda Ford Smith and husband, Roy, of Douglasville, GA; Nancy Ford Hobbs and husband, Scott, of McDonough, GA; Stan Ford and wife, Susan, of Grantsville, Utah; and sister, Betty Jean Chapman of Morrow. Her life was also blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-children.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel with Dr. David Chancey officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jack. The family will receive friends before the funeral from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to McDonough Road Baptist Church, 352 McDonough Rd., Fayetteville, GA 30214 in her memory.
