Mark Cosby

August 19, 1946 — September 12, 2001

Mr. Mark J. Cosby, age 55, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away September 12, 2001. He was a long time resident of Douglas County recently moving to Villa Rica. Mr. Cosby was the Supervisor at the Vulcan Material Heard County Quarry in Franklin, Ga. He was employed at Vulcan Materials Company for 34 years. Spending most of his time at the Lithia Springs Quarry and a year at the Villa Rica Quarry before being transferred to the Heard County Quarry. He is a member of the Sunset Hills Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. Tommy F. and Lucy Correa Cosby of Douglasville; two sisters, Imogene Cosby and Shelvy Thornton of Villa Rica. He is survived by his wife Linda Camp Cosby; son, Matt and Sonya Cosby of Winston; two daughters, Melissa and David Robinson of Bremen and Selena and Vinnie Anderson of Douglasville; six grandchildren, Ryan, Kasey & Jesse Wade Robinson of Bremen; Destani Cosby of Winston; and Chyanne & Victoria Anderson of Douglasville; one brother, Paul and Peggy Cosby of Douglasville; five sisters, Nettie Sue Bohannon and Virginia Seabolt both of Douglasville; Ina and Charles Dorough of Villa Rica, Patricia and Edward Jordan of Temple; and Tommie Lou and Richard Kotil of Orlando, FL; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, Steve Thornton of Villa Rica, Bobby and Addielene Camp of Douglasville, Jackie and Kathy Camp of Lithia Springs; Brenda and Donald Henry, Shirley and Donald Davenport, and Debbie and Wade Cook all of Douglasville; a host of nieces and nephews. The family received friends Thursday, September 13, 2001 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM & Friday, September 14, 2001 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, September 15, 2001 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Ikey Watson and Rev. Grover “Johnny” Williams officiating. Interment followed at Rosehaven Cemetery. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville was in charge of arrangements. 770-942-2311
