Marsha Gay Workman, affectionately known as "Memaw" to her family and friends, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026. She was born on December 20, 1946, in Galion, Ohio to the late Wilma Irene Walters Chaney and Floyd M. Chaney. Marsha was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a pillar of strength to all who knew her.

Marsha held a deep love for her family, cherishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Known for her generous heart and joyful spirit, she loved spoiling her grandchildren and creating lasting memories filled with warmth and laughter. Her home was a place of comfort and unconditional love, where her family always felt treasured and supported.

Throughout her life, Marsha was a hard worker. She approached every task with determination and dedication, earning respect from colleagues and loved ones alike for her unwavering work ethic and resilience. Despite her hardworking nature, Marsha never lost sight of what mattered most—her family. Her role as "Memaw" was one she embraced fully and proudly, weaving the joy of family life into the fabric of her everyday existence.

Marsha Gay Workman’s legacy is one of love, strength, and devotion. She will be remembered fondly for her kind spirit and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. Though she has departed, the memories she created and the love she imparted will continue to inspire and comfort her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her passing marks the end of a life well-lived and deeply cherished. Marsha leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and who will carry forward her spirit in their hearts always.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Chaney.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 57 years, Mr. Richard "Ray" Workman; daughters and their significant others, Penni (John Hutchinson) Workman of Douglasville, Georgia and Kelli (Dave) Weikel of Commerce, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff (Nickkie) Workman of Villa Rica; sister, Sandie Chaney of Florida; four grandchildren, Kristi, Kayla, Katelyn and David; and three great grands, Alivia, Kylah and A.T., as well as several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Marsha was cremated.
