Martha Marie Williamson Adams, 88, of Douglasville, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was born on January 25, 1937 to the late Lurlene Usrey Williamson and George William Williamson. Her life was dedicated to loving and caring for others.
Marie was a proud nurse for over 30 years at Wellstar Douglas Hospital, where she cared for countless patients using her remarkable nursing skills. She loved spending time with her family - especially cooking meals for them and spending time with her grandchildren, who she deeply cherished. Marie also enjoyed reading in her spare time, especially her newspapers. She was also a fan of the Auburn Tigers, WAR EAGLE!
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Doyle Brady Adams; son, Andrew Doyle Adams, and sisters, Mary Ann Allison and Nancy Diane Sorrells.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Cindy (Charles) Freeman of Douglasville and Vicki Rickles of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Will (Donna) Adams of Douglasville; four grandchildren; Austin (Hannah) Rickles, Nick Adams, Spencer Rickles and Mollei Adams; 2 great grandchildren, Avery Rickles and Fallon Quayle; and brother-in-law, Jimmie Sorrels.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Marie was cremated.
The family will receive friends at the Old Chapel of Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia, on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, followed by the Memorial Service beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Steven Green officiating.
Flowers are accepted; however, donations can be made to the Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund.
