Martha Elizabeth Conner, age 78, affectionately known as "Marty," passed away on December 17, 2024. She was born on March 21, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Mr. William D. Conner, Sr. and the late Mrs. Olivia D. Wright Conner.
Martha dedicated years of her life to Bellsouth/AT&T, where her dedication made her a beloved figure among her colleagues. She transitioned into retirement after an impressive 32 years.
Beyond her professional life, Martha had a profound love for the great outdoors, particularly the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She embraced horse riding with open arms. The thrill of galloping through nature, alongside the beauty of the landscape, brought her immeasurable joy.
In addition to her love for horses, Martha found solace in gardening and working in her yard. Her green thumb reflected her nurturing personality.
Martha was not just a friend; she was a pillar of support for everyone she met. She embodied qualities of generosity and love, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. Those who crossed her path experienced her matter-of-fact approach with a warm heart, making her presence both grounding and uplifting.
In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her brother, William D. Conner, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Cowen-Austin; brother, Scott Conner; nephew, Michael “Mike” Cowen and his wife Darlene; niece, Jennifer Moreland and her husband Mike; as well as a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.
The Graveside service will take place on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Sunrise Gardens of Memories in Douglasville, Georgia, with Bishop Bobby Riggs officiating.
