Mrs. Martha Jean Smith Williams, age 81, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at her home following an extended illness. She was born December 29, 1928 in Carroll County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Merce M. Smith and the late Mrs. Lucille Nalley Smith. She married Rev. Charles E. Williams on January 18, 1947 in Paulding County, Georgia. She was a member of Callie Harbin Baptist Church and retired from Villa Rica Hosiery Mill. She was a devoted preacherâs wife and served her husband and the ministry faithfully. She loved music and singing songs of worship. She enjoyed yard sales and antiques. She was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Charles E. Williams of Villa Rica; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Junior Bearden of Dallas, Robin and Tim Brown of Marietta, Lisa and Terry Thomas of Eatonton; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Terre Williams of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Gerald Wolfe of Greenville, SC; brothers and sister-in-law, Jack Smith of Lawrenceville and James and Diane Smith of Newnan; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, September 6, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Earl Partain and Rev. Danny Watters officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park.
