Martha Jean McCain

Martha Jean Ledford McCain, 86, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was born on November 1, 1937, the daughter of the late William Roland Posey and the late Henrietta Jackson Canter.

There was nothing more rewarding to her than being a devoted mother and grandmother. She poured her heart and soul into her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Martha’s love knew no bounds; she loved them fiercely and unconditionally. Her family brought immense joy and purpose to her life, and their memories together will forever be treasured. The company of her cherished Chihuahua Buddy brought her so much happiness with his company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Ledford; one grandchild and one great-grandchild; sister, Loretta Hall and Linda Baker.

She is survived by her children, Horace “Bo” Ledford, Jr. of Dallas, Georgia, John Ledford of Peachtree City, David (Amanda) Ledford of Athens, Alabama, Bree Ledford of Douglasville, Ronald (Mary) Ledford of Murphy, North Carolina, Tangala (Wesley) Ross of Quinton, Alabama, Joe (Tiffany) Ledford of Waco, Aaron McCain of Douglasville and Shanda McFalls of Douglasville; twenty seven grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Buddy Walters on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
