Martha Ruth Abercrombie Lowery

Mrs. Martha Ruth Abercrombie Lowery, 73, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, July 11, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Lowery was born February 22, 1935 in Douglas County, Georgia; the daughter of the late Roy Abercrombie and the late Minnie Faye Leathers Abercrombie. Mrs. Lowery was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, William Joe Abercrombie, Mike Abercrombie, and Madeline Abercrombie. Survivors include her husband, Stewart Lowery of Douglasville; daughter and son in-law, Susan K. and Tom Herber of Douglasville; son and daughter in-law, Tommy S. and Judy Lowery of Douglasville; sister, Evelyn Humphries of Douglasville; brothers and sisters in-law, James Abercrombie of Douglasville; Donald and Ann Abercrombie of Wedowee, AL; Sammy and Linda Abercrombie of Douglasville; David Abercrombie of Villa Rica; and Carolyn Abercrombie of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, July 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Dr. Milton Dwelle and Rev. Cecil Clegg officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Cemetery in Douglasville with Chaplain Asa Mangum officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, July 13, 2008 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
