Mrs. Marvene Roberts Hicks, 87, of Winston, Georgia passed away February 7, 2008 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center. She was born October 8, 1920 in Dallas, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Tyre Roberts and the late Mrs. Ida Fields Roberts. She was a member of White Oak Springs Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia. She was a homemaker. She was known as âNannieâ to those who knew her. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and gardening. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Columbus âJ.C.â Hicks; daughter, Dianne Rollins; sons-in-law, Randall Garner and James Rollins; sister, Sallie Roberts Hicks; brothers, W.B. Roberts, Alva Roberts, and L.T. Roberts. She is survived by her daughter, Treva Hicks Garner of Winston; grandchildren, Kristina Wright and Steve Rollins; great-grandchild, Violet Nash; brother, Cleveland Roberts of Hiram; sisters-in-law, Thelma Roberts of Temple, Jean Roberts Pettway and her husband, Steve of Acworth and Louise Roberts of Hiram; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 2:00 PM from White Oak Springs Baptist Church in Dallas with Rev. Earl Partain, Sr. and Rev. Larry Argo officiating. Interment will follow at White Oak Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
