Marvin Franklin

Mr. Marvin Gene Franklin, age 84 of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019. He was born January 31, 1935, the son of the late Mr. Roy B. Franklin and the late Mrs. Clara Schields Franklin. Mr. Franklin loved to do yard work, working outdoors and planting. He remodeled shelving in their home. He worked for 37 years as a Bookkeeper at The University of Kansas Union. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Franklin; sister, Elaine Willis. He is survived by the love of his life, Mrs. Marilyn Franklin of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Liz Franklin and Mike Davis of Lawrence, Kansas; son, Brad Franklin of Shenandoah, Iowa; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Steve Laughlin; 2 grandchildren, Kelsey and Colton Franklin of Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted, Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
