Mary Audine Queen Mason

Mary Audine Queen Mason, age 73, a long time resident of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She had been in the care of Hospice at Tanner Medical Center for the last few weeks. Mary was born on September 1, 1935 in Paulding County, Georgia. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mama, aunt, grandma, great-grandma (GG) and friend to all that loved her. Throughout her life, she worked at Trintex, Sewell’s sock factory, Tyson Foods and was a cook at Bowdon Hospital until she retired when they closed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, James Mason, “Jr”; two of her sons, Jimmy Mason and Kenneth Mason; her parents, Bill and Sleetie Queen; brothers, Danny, Randell and Willard Queen; and her sister-in-law, Debbie Queen. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-laws, Wanda & Charles Duncan of Cumming, Stacey and Dwayne Richardson of Bowdon; son, Darrell Mason; granddaughters, Melissa Duncan and Wendy Duncan, both of Cumming, Christy and Don Nelms, II of Carrollton, Bobby Sue and Keith Jabat of Bowdon; great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn “Rose” Jabat and Landon Duncan-Barrett; step great-grandchildren, Lane and Alexis Nelms; brothers and sister-in-laws, Howard & Marcell Queen of Smyrna, Alton Queen of Villa Rica, and Helen Queen of Orlando, Florida. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 3:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. David Richardson officiating. Serving as pallballers will be Charles Duncan, Dwayne Richardson, Don Nelms, and Craig Bradbary, Darrell Mason and Keith Jabat. Interment will follow in the Christus Garden in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens on Hickory Level Road in Villa Rica, Georgia, next to her husband and family that have gone before her. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM and Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 9:00AM until the funeral hour.
