Mrs. Mary Edna Simpson Bearden, 94, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at her residence. She was born July 7, 1912 in Piedmont, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. George A. Simpson and the late Mrs. Alice Hendon Simpson. She was a member of Bearden Lane Church of Christ in Douglasville and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hill H. Bearden and son, Raymond E. Bearden. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Norene Herren, Carolyn and Russell Turner, Catherine Davis, and Jean and Herman Derrick all of Douglasville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert N. and Sarah Bearden of Temple and Allen D. and Julie Bearden of Douglasville; daughter in law, Jeannette Bearden of Douglasville; two sisters, Hazel Kite of Douglasville and Rachel Holt of Piedmont, AL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 3:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Minister Michael Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Bearden Lane Church of Christ Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Nim Bearden, Tim Bearden, Jim Bearden, Will Davis, Jim Davis, and David Bearden. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
