Mary Elaine Barber

Ms. Elaine Barber, age 61, of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. She was born in Atlanta on February 14, 1960, the daughter of the late William Thurman Barber and the late Mary Olie Glemer Norton. She was a Nurse, CNA at Garden Terrace Nursing Home for 32 years. Ms. Barber loved her grandchildren and enjoyed reading and watching the Atlanta Falcons. She is survived by dear friend and companion of 19 years, Tommy Gibson of Villa Rica; daughter Jessica Nash and partner Chris Gazaway of Douglasville; sisters Shirley Willoughby of Winston and Gail and Steve Benefield of Raburn, Alabama; brother Rick and Barbara Barber of Raburn, Alabama; grandchildren Wesley Bearden and Kyler Prather; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Brothers James William Barber, Charles Edward Barber, and David Lee Barber; and sister Christine Daniel. A Memorial Service to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Elaine Barber will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at Powell Park, Villa Rica, Georgia.
