Mary Ellen Johnston

Mrs. Mary Ellen Ralston Johnston, age 91, of Dallas, formally of North Augusta, SC, passed away, Tuesday, February 19, 2019. She was born October 27, 1927 in Lumpkin County, GA, the daughter of the late Mr. William Leamon Ralston and the late Mrs. Flora Anderson Ralston. Mrs. Johnston enjoyed her time at Davison’s Department Store for many years. She helped ladies with their Avon and Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, serving as a member of the Gold Choir and member of the JOY Sunday School Class. She loved old Gospel Hymns, the Lord and her church. Mrs. Johnston’s favorites were her family.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chesley Harold Johnston; brother, Bill Ralston; sister, Mona Elizabeth Townsend.She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, David and Amy Johnston of Dallas; Paul Lesley Johnston of Richardson, Oregon; sister, Elsie Lee DenDekker of Livonia, Michigan; brother, Clarence Ralston of Boulder, Colorado; sister-in-law, Charlotte Brown Ralston of Smyrna; eight grandchildren, Robin Hipp of Columbia, Erin Ann and Seth Linne of Kennesaw, Amy and Matthew Ames of Leesburg, Virginia, Ben Johnston of Marietta, Caleb Phillip Whitehead of Kennesaw, Elizabeth Faye Whitehead of Douglasville, Emily Louise Whitehead of Austell, Gideon Daniel Whitehead of Austell; four great-grandchildren, Noah David Ames, Lacey Ann Ames, Addison Ames of Leesburg, Virginia, Levi Linne of Kennesaw; special friend and caregiver, Emma Jean Sykes; several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Gardens in Villa Rica.
