Mrs. Mary Frances Kite Hammond, 77, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017, following an extended illness. She was born December 16, 1939 in Paulding County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Herbert Kite, Sr. and the late Mrs. Flora Bell Camp Kite. She married William H. âBillâ Hammond on October 4, 1958 in Douglasville. She retired from Richâs where she worked as the Personnel and Credit Manager. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville. She was devoted to family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lamar Kite. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William H. âBillâ Hammond of Douglasville; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Michael Garrison of Buchanan; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Terry New of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Henry H. Kite, Jr. and Jackie Westmoreland Kite of Douglasville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Kelly Garrison of Marietta and Rebekah and James Tripp of Temple; three great-grandchildren and one soon to be born great-grandchild, Myleigh Tripp, Paige Tripp, Wyatt Garrison and Zoey Tripp; niece, LeighAnne Kite; nephews, Kevin New and his partner, Tim Ford and Patrick New; several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 4:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Dickinson and Rev. Ikey Watson officiating. In accordance to her wishes, the body will be cremated following the funeral service.
