Mary Shook

Mrs. Mary Diane Hurst Shook, 70, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born July 7, 1944 in Lake Charles, Louisiana the daughter of the late Mr. Darl Kenneth Hurst and the late Mrs. Addie Mae Canter Hurst. She worked as a teacher for the Aiken County, South Carolina Board of Education. She volunteered at the Holly Springs Elementary School in the library. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Howard E. Shook, Jr. of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mark Duncan of Douglasville; sister, Carol Hurst of Aiken, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Sandy Hurst of Texas; one grandchild, Guy English; one niece, Emily and one nephew, Jameson. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. According to her wishes, the body was cremated.
