Mrs. Mary E. Bishop Smith, 70, of Warm Springs, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013. She was born March 19, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. William Travis Bishop and the late Mrs. Virginia Blanch Cruse Bishop. She worked at Advo Systems and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a great cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harry “Butch” Smith; son, Danny Ray Smith; sister, Brenda Chastain; and brother, Doug Bishop. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Janice Dowis of Temple; and James Lee Smith of Warm Springs; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Coleman of Atlanta, Pat Hill of Douglasville, Vickey and Daryl Bruce of Dallas, and Debra Bishop of Douglasville; six brothers and sisters-in-law, William Travis Bishop of Buchanan, Jerry and Mary Bishop of Fayetteville, Henry and Sara Bishop of Senoia, Pete and Sherry Bishop of Luthersville, David Bishop of Ellenwood, and Larry Bishop of Commerce; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 12:00 Noon with Minister Allen Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Meriweather Memory Gardens in Manchester, Georgia. The following will serve as pallbearers: Billy Hill, Zachary Bruce, Nathan Camp, Travis Smith, Bill Coleman, Wayland Marek. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
