Mary Jacqueline Mullins Waggoner, 82, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, November 19, 2021. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 23 to James Henry and Mary Lee Mullins. After graduating from Southeastern Bible College, she taught school in Huntsville, Alabama, where she met her husband, the late Herman Lewis Waggoner of Hardinsburg, Kentucky. The couple married in 1964 and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where they lived for over forty years. Mary returned south in 2011 to care for her mother and be closer to her daughters. She enjoyed theater and movies, travel, shopping, cooking, and spending time with family. She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Eddings Glenn (Stephen) of Roswell, Georgia, and Lisa Hendrick Pope (Robert) of Douglasville, Georgia; one brother, James William Mullins (Brenda) of Alabaster, Alabama; and three grandchildren, Spencer Glenn, Gillian Glenn, and Henry Pope. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jimmie Lee Fallstrom (Leo) of Saint Simons Island, Georgia. A service to honor Mary's life will be held at Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Marietta on December 5 at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Kidney Fund.
