Mattie Westmoreland

Mrs. Mattie Parson Westmoreland, age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014. She was born November 28, 1929 in Douglasville, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Harvey Horace Parson and the late Mrs. Bessie Lee Wix Parson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Westmoreland; and brother, Jimmy Parson. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Henry Kite of Douglasville, Sheila and Jim Conway of Roswell, Sherry Westmoreland of Villa Rica and Paige and Blakely Johnson of Villa Rica; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dorothy Westmoreland; sister, Shirley Parson of Douglasville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her three dogs, Ginger, Scooter, and Isabella; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Graveside Services will be conducted Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Gary Westmoreland officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
