Mrs. Maureen Suddeth Akers, age 81, of Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013. She was born June 5, 1932 in Douglasville, the daughter of the late Mr. Rader M. Suddeth and the late Mrs. Loni V. Parks Suddeth. She worked as a cashier and clerk for E T Doyal and Sons Store in Villa Rica for many years. She was a member of Word of Life Baptist Church of Villa Rica.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Nathan Akers, Jr.; sisters, Maudie Keaton and Louise Millians.She is survived by her daughter and sons-in-law, Joan and Ronald Street of Carrollton, Donna and Joe Kennedy of Bremen, Lynn Stephens of Carrollton; sister, Sue Cole; grandchildren, Ron Street, Jr., Teresa Davenport, Scott Stephens, Alan Stephens, Ashley Billingsly, Brittney Bradley, Scott Kennedy; nine great-grandchildren, Jessie Davenport, Makayla Davenport, Logan Street, Lane Fortune, Charlie Billingsly, Lainah Bradley, Emma Dewberry, Aiden Stephens, and Kamden Stephens. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. David McBurnette and Rev. Ronald Street, Sr. officiating.
